Dr. Margherita Antona holds a B.A. in Computational Linguistics from the University of Pisa, Italy, and a PhD from the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Kent, UK, in the area of Human-Computer Interaction. She is member of the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Laboratory of ICS-FORTH since 1993, where she has served as a Principal Researcher from 2013 to January 2024. She has been Deputy Head of the HCI Laboratory and of the Ambient Intelligence Programme of ICS‐FORTH from 2014 to 2023. Her research interests include design for all and assistive technologies, adaptive and intelligent interfaces, Ambient Intelligence, Human Robot Interaction and Human-Centred AI. She has participated in more than 25 European and national R&D projects. She has coauthored more than 160 scientific publications. She is Co‐Chair of the International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction (UAHCI), coeditor the Universal Access in the Information Society International Journal published by Springer, and member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Human Computer Interaction published by Taylor&Francis. From 1989 to 1993 she has been researcher at the Institute of Computational Linguistics of CNR is Pisa (Italy).
